Spring has arrived, finally!

Picture-www.etsy.com

Now that spring is here, doesn't it feel different, its feels warmer, and the sun is brighter, and all the new plants are growing, and flowers are popping their heads up. I cannot wait for summer. Although spring is great, it does mean getting ready for summer and beach time, and not wearing trousers and a jumper to work every day or whiter than white legs hidden under some brightly colored tights.

So the prep for summer:
Exfoliate more - will be using some home made sugar scrub with coffee to attack those pesky cellulite bits, and the rest of my Biotherm Body Scrub, which smells great and fresh.

Moisterise - I do try and moisterise after a shower but as it is too cold at night I quickly jump into my PJ's to not feel the cold, and just say ' I will do it later...'. Lazy!

Drink water - I am so bad at this, I do try to drink water but on the weekend I don't drink a lot, but in the week I have water bottle on my desk that reminds me to drink water, and its a big one, so I really only have to fill it up twice.

Get a tan - the fake way, As I will be exfoliating I will be ready for the fake tan, my fav is Sublime Bronze, its the gel one and its very runny, but it gives a good clour not orange,, looks so natural. I have tried the Palmers tanning one but the smell is so strong. The Nivea Summer Body one is good, the moiseriser with a bit of tan in it gives a good colour.

Exercise more - Now is the time to get out of that rut and the winterness of cuddling up on the couch to get warm, I will be doing more exercise to get summer worthy, as we normally spend a lot of time on the beach.

Well that is my aim, what is your Summer Ready routine, and what will you use?

Beautifull Jewellery

I came across this website a few days ago, this is a friend of a friend who runs this Jewllery website. It has lovely bracelets, pendants, necklaces, and earings. My fav are the star earings and the star pendants, gorgous! Have a look HERE, go on! xoxo

Tag.... and your it!

This is a tag from Rainy Days and Lattes and i would be happy to indulge in the questions she has put to us who reads her blog, so here goes.....

When did you first start in fashion/beauty blogging and why?
Well I first started my blog when I was made redundant from my job about 2 years ago and had too much spare time I did not know what to do, as i was waiting for my resident visa. I am working at the moment in case you ask.So I filled up my time with posting and working out how to blog.

Are you a sweets or savory food type of person?
lol definatly a sweets person unfortunatly, I love all things sweet and desert like. Apple and Rhubarb Crumble with Custard is my fav. mmmmm. But I have been good and been cutting down a bit.

Favorite place in the entire world?
Well... I would have to say here in Perth, it does remind me of home, South Africa but a less violent S.A. , and the beaches are so gorgous, and in the summer time I still stand there on the hot white sand looking into the clear blue sea and think to my self "wow I cannot believe we are here".

Other hobbies besides makeup and clothes?
Well I have tried most things, I dont have a specific hobby, I have been snowboarding before and just adore it and want to go again, and used to do Aikido and Jiu Jitsu, but had to cut it as had to save money. So it would be a bit of those two, when I know how much spare cash we will have I will prob get back into martial arts again, or yoga again.

Favourite drink?
Malibu and coke, Pina Colada, Zabuca shots, Caramel Lattes!

Perfect date?
hmmm that is a hard one, well I'm open to most things, but as long as at the end of it i felt like I did not want it to end, we talked most of the time, he makes me laugh, and I get butterflies.

Your beauty indulgence?
A good foundation, and quality perfume.

Favourite magazines or books?
Elle UK, UK Glamour, Australian Womens Health, Harpers Bazaar, Shop Till You Drop, Vogue.
Books - anything by James Patterson, and crime thrillers, fashion and beauty bibles too.

And my own qu.
What is your fav tv show / series and or movie at this moment?
At this moment Burn Notice & Covert Affairs.

I Tag: Anyone who reads this, and add & or replace a question of your own!

Mineral Powder Foundation review

After going from an expensive branded mineral foundation to a cheap and affordable brand and then one in between, I decided to do some investigating into Mineral Foundations. As I have oily to combo skin and by the end of the day I am shiny, I prefer powders to liquids as it goes on smoother and easy to build. After going on many websites and beautyheaven.com.au for reviews, and reading Don't Go To The Cosmetics Counter Without Me - Paula Begoun, so many reviews.... I decided upon Laura Mercier.

I read many glowing reviews especially for oily skin, and decided to take the plunge and buy it. I bought the compact mineral pressed foundation, and have been using it for two weeks now. WOW it is amazing good coverage, stays nice and matt, a bit shiny on the chin but good, and so easy to apply, I use the kabuki brush not the sponge provided.

So it's a 9/10 for me, buta 7/10 for pricing. Was $65 but it worth it I guess, it is a bit pricey but it will last me a few months. My skin has improved since using this aswell, not as manybreakouts when compared with the other brand I was using (which was cheaper but I will not say the brand unless you ask).

A desert island feel

How gorgous are these clothes, I even feel more relaxed looking at them. I happened upon this site Lilya when reading Under Lock and Key. They look so gorgous and have that stranded on a deserted island but look like a godess feel. Why not have look. xo

.....dreams.......

Curious, Is it normal to dream.... or to not remember anything..?

I dream a lot, of strange things, and sometimes just the last thing I was watching before bed. I have not been a normal sleeper though. I have been told that you are supposed to not dream a lot.

What about you, do you dream, do you remember, or dream nothing at all..?

Terrible Tuesday's

As its Tuesday, its the start of the week not yet half way and still a while till the weekend, I thought I would take a page from Under Lock and Key and list my Happy Five's for today:

1) Happy about our impending house completion, our first house. Cannot wait, and the decorating......... mmmm.... being able to do whatever you want.

2) Happy to be where I am here in Perth, though chilly at the moment, the summers are the best.

3) Trying to be more healthy, and making an effort to be healthy (which means waking up early and exercising in the morning, I am a slow morning person..)

4) Happy as it was my bday last week, and had a great time, and was just happy and suprised by the gift from my fiance. And he always makes me laugh and smile everyday.

5) Happy about my new coffee machine... its Nespresso one with the capsules, and its amazing, as we both love our coffee's. its so nice to have a proffessional coffee at home.

Well those are my fives.. what are your fives?
