Things you did not know.....

Lilies and Grapes had a tag of one of these that she passed on to whom ever would like to do it, as I don't have much to say as life is bit boring now, I will write 10 things you did not know about me!
Anyone is welcome to do the same I "ten tag" who ever reads this.

1) I really dislike my name, it is strange and is celtic by origin, I am not even celtic, I was born and raised mostly in Hillcrest, RSA, and have been teased as my name was weird in school, everyone calls me Hari for short now, and I like that.

2) I love Martial Arts, I used to do Karate when I was little, well you had to back then as it was South Africa, lol. But I love to do it again, when I get some money coming in. I like the sound of doing Ninja or Kung Fu. Cool to be a kick-ass-girl.

3) I was a Tomboy, not a girly girl was I was younger, I dont like pink that much, nail polish pink is nice. Having two brothers who played rough probably did not help, and I get on so much more with guys than girls.

4) I love all things asian, I cannot explain it but I just do. I love the food, the culture, the way they do things, I would love to learn the language they have so many different variations. I love Anime too, prob as I like Art and it is quite artistic. I have a lot of asian friends I just seem to click better with them and they have been so genuine compared to flaky people.

5) I like to try things different, I have done rock climbing, snowboarding, spinning, fencing, salsa, I may be trying to make my own jewellery soon, will see.

6) I am trying to convince my fiance to take my last name, I would like to keep it to remember my grandfather who passed away last year, I do think of him quite often. Will keep trying.

7) Ok even though I have two maternal brothers, I feel like an only child, I do not speak to them , one is the black sheep, and the other has not grown up yet and is too big headed. So I have become very self dependant and do not mind relocation a million miles away. And I am fine with it.

8) I have an active imagination and daydream a lot, not when I am working though. lol.

9) I have a purebred seal point siamese kitten called Tiffany, she is the cutest thing ever, absolutly adore her and have always wanted a cat. Forced my fiance to agree, haha, and though he complains and does not do anything to take care of her, when she climbes on his lap and cuddles up, he loves it, lol.

10) I am engaged, but will not be having that big white wedding, its complicated, think a bad episode from The Bold and the Beautifull. Yes, believe it, it is funny, you just have to laugh. So an island on a beach is fine by me.

Gone with the wind.

Its August and the last month of winter here, though it is nice to wrap up warm and have occasional rain, I do miss the summers and being able to wear flip flops everyday, (lol and will not be calling them thongs in oz, as in the UK and RSA it really does meant something else). Here comes spring ya, I cant wait to go to the beach again. Winter has gone quickly though, and I have not even needed a scarf this season too! Winter in other countries is so different here, it seems like spring already.
A time for new things too, like maybe starting your own business as the employment market out there really is not good at all, I have not even found a job yet, so many competators, thinking of maybe changing to a different field too, some men can be real sexist here, I'm just used to being listened to.
What will you be doing in the new spring season?
xoxo

What a great weekend

Was a brilliant weekend, was my birthday on saturday, happy bday to me, did not think it would be any good as its hard to start again in another country, but it was great. My fiance took me shopping and spend the whole day together, I really enjoyed myself more than I thought I would. It is weird to think that I am a year older but I still feel the same as I did when i was 24, just turned 27, but am gratefull for a lot of things. I have a fiance who I love, never thought I would be getting married, have a gorgous kitten who is adorable always wanted one, living in a great place I love OZ, better than where I was before. Oh and just had confirmation that I can get a job now, again. So much better than sitting on the sofa doing nothing but cleaning, washing, hoovering and being at home. Im not really a housewife kind of person, I like to be earning money and contributing. So, yes its been a good weekend, and though I did not get a party or huge amount of gifts, I dont care as I am happy just where I am, and that probably comes with being 27, lol.

xoxo

To those who read this, what did you do on the weekend?

The Hills

Photo from Etsy

For those of you who watch THE HILLS series, which is so funny, absolutly hilarious how some people can be so stuck up and the waste of mommy and daddy's money on them, its just hilarious. Have to watch the clip, just gave me a smile for the morning.

I have watched 4 seasons of it, some may think I am bit nuts but was curious, and I must say after the 2nd season I was getting annoyed with them, lol, especially that Heidi girl, someone needs a wake up me thinks. But we need laughter in our life and thank our lucky stars we are not little rich girls who get their rocks off with their personal lives being broadcasted on TV.

Read it from a lovely blog Lilies and Grapes.

The best balms so far....

After many years of lip balms, my personal opinion so far is Piz Buin Sun Lipstick which is amazing smells like vanilla, so moisurising and has SPF in it, great for oz. I discovered this in Superdrug in Uk before I left, and man I should have bought more. Even my other half is hooked and his has been used till the death, he will do his best to get every last scrap from the stick lol. Unfortunatly this is not sold in Australia so will have ask parents to send it over or buy from the website.

Equally good is newly discovered Yes To Carrots Lip Balm in Melon, mmmmm smell devine and very moisturising too, but no SPF, and quite small so can even fit snuggly in your purse! Good one for me as my bag is quite big and don't want to carry it around sometimes. Also this one has no chemicals, and is all natural products, very very good. So no chemicals on your precious lips. The other half likes this one too, but prefers the Piz Buin.

I would like to mention I did buy a mens brand from Myers that was on sale at xmas, me thinking its mens so he will like it, but not nice at all.
You can smell its sickly sweet, supposed to be vanilla but yuck, not moisturising at all and very chunky too. Will have to find the brand, but this will have to be used for something else, like moisturising elbows or something, not nice at all.

Clarins Body Scrub

I have just finished this scrub which I got a while ago as a GWP gift with purchase, its amazing, really fine granuals, looks peach in colour , a lot of the granuals when you squeeze it out so you dont need that much. Used it on my legs and does feel different afterwards. This I would rate a 4.5 out of 5 and would definatly buy it again, unsure of the price but don't think its too bad.

I will have to work through my stock before I buy anything, at the moment i am using up a toner that got free, it did not work for my face was too much oily residue, so I combined it with some coffee granuels, the perculator kind, to make a coffee scrub for the bum and thighs, as caffine gets rid of celluite.

Been busy, a new kitty.

Been neglecting my blog lately, had a siamese kitten, called Tiffany, needs a lot of TLC. And she has been sick too so had to take care of her.
Also been researching my long lost cousins, which i googled and ended up finding them on Facebook, would you believe it eh. What the luck.

Been so busy with other stuff been off the internet a while, all the usual troubles and stresses that pop up, and other stuff as well as Tiffany, its like having a baby. lol. Will post a pic of her once I discover how to download from the camera, its not mine. :)

And... yay recieved my belongings from overseas too. Its like getting prezzies all over gain. I will have to Ebay the stuff I dont need anymore and I did drop some unwanted unsellables into Good Sammys Charity Shop.

Getting Tiff has just taken up all my time....

What have you been up to lately? Anything taken up your time? xoxo

My love of shoes........

I love shoes, as most gals do, I love cowboy boots, but since moving to Perth I have not found the same shoe quality as there was when I lived in the UK for ten years. My favorite shop was one called Dune, the shoes were worth every penny and last a long time. Compared to good quality here, eg Witchery, it last much longer, my Witchery court shoes did not last that long the leather wore quickly and the heels had to be re-heeled twice. My shoes at the moment are in the shipping boxes and will arrive soon. Yay, but , lol, where to put them in our small 1 bed flat. Nowhere, so they will have to stay in storage. If you want to look, this is the website. Oh and also have tried shoes from Asos, they pretty good for the cheap price you pay, converted from UK pounds to Oz dollars. But! I have only seen Jimmy Choo here, omg, I will be getting a pair eventually. They were not to be found in tiny little Cardiff. ha.

Weekend in Broome

I went to Broome this last weekend, to go and spend time with my fiance who was working there for a week, (was supposed to have the whole weekend to ourselves, but work came up, usualy does). But! we spend a great Monday together even though we were flying out later that night. Went to a croc park, was great, went to Cable Beach and walked far along the beach picking up shells and going in the sea, was hot and so much fun. Also went to the Cable Beach Resort, wow, its amazing sat by the pool for a bit before we left for the airport. Its so pretty up there, but its really dry and hot and is so isolated too. Maybe retire up there, no sooner. Will post some of my pics once they are downloaded off the camera.

That famous little blue box with a white ribbon that every girl wants...

Pandora

Tiffany & Co

It seems since I have discovered Pandora , I see it copied by all jewellers now. Tiffany & Co now have stack rings which acctually look quite cool, but for a cheaper version Pandoras are pretty cool too. I would still like to have one of those Tiffany necklaces or that chunky bar through a loop bracelt. I have a Pandora bracelet , an amazing gift from my fiance with a few charms on it. Thanks Love! It is quite cool and looks more expensive and chic than you think.

Curious about......

Philosophy

Allways wondered about this, have heard good things about it and it is in the top beauty tier. The bottles look so cute and look so pretty. There are so many packs and starter kits, with mini's are different products to try out. Discovered it on Sephora and Mecca. I will have to try it and see how it is.

This is an expensive brand but everyone raves on about it and how great it is, the lip balm seems to be the most popular, and my fiance likes the after shave balm. The Peach Blossom range seems so be a wow, esspecially for Mothers Day.

Change of seasons is showing.

Its starting to get colder in the mornings and night so rug up as they say here. Was quite chilly when I woke up this morning early, evened out now, think it is 25C now, still great for autumn, will be needing the duvet in the nights though, and the hot water bottle.

Thought I would cheer up my fiance today so ventured out and bought the ingredients for ye olde Chelsea Buns, am maing them right now, will see how it goes. Lol don't think the Banana Bread I made last night went down well, even I admit not the best one I have made. Just stick to the recipe and don't venture off it!

This recipe was taken from one of the recipe blogs from my fav blog lists:

Start of May.

Last day of April today, and May starts tomorrow. The month has gone by so quickly. Im still in limbo with my personal stuff, but trying to get into the rythem of doing my yoga every day, it really is good. I had a headache today, have it quite often, and after doing some yoga and opening my balcony door wider I definatly felt better. Skin has gone a bit bad lately too, should really be drinking those 8 glasses of water.
Been reading THE LITTLE BLACK BOOK OF HOLLYWOOD DIET SECRETS, really good read, too many to choose from, ha ha.
I did make some more Banana Bread today too, sort of messed it aswell as added some yeast to make it rise and as soon as it came out of the oven it flopped. Well will not be doing that again lol.
My next one to experiment is the old Chelsea Buns I remember from going shopping with my mom at Christians then changed to Pick 'n Pay, in Hillcrest. Remember eating them in the back of the parents orange Bettle lol what a long time ago. Will also be trying Croissants too, now that will be hard.

Oh and can't wait for Tiffany to come home too....

Result..

I tried out the Steamed Buns again, and used my moms recipe for a bread dough mix this time, just to test it, and it worked. So happy, its amazing, me and my fiance love these Steamed Buns but the mix I put in was ok, was mince with soy and sesame oil, will have to change it don't like the taste that much when reheated, needs to be sweeter. But overall so pleased!

Will be trying out custard ones next just to be experimental, but not sure how to get the roundness of the Buns... hmmm will see. So I have posted these pics of ones I made last night and reheated for lunch today.

Natural Ingredients

Been on a craze lately about all natural beauty products and have discovered Jurlique, Triliogy, A'kin, and SKII.
Though this SKII is real expensive, but the moisteriser is totally what is that for? But never really try it. It really good, the moisteriser is like air and good for me as I have ily skin. Will be trying this out too when I am earning again. devine. SKII is one of those really expensive high botique ranges that you walk past and thik, hmmm
A'kin I have tried some samples, they are devine too and so natural, no chemicals.
The Jurlique is ok, nice smells and a lot of hype, but maybe not for me, too expensive and A'kin is sort of a replacement for it.
Trilogy is great, will be buying that again, have the Everything Balm and its is exactly as it says on the tin, just amazing and can be used for everything. Will be trying their other products.

Steamed Buns

A recipe I found on another blog for steamed buns again, this recipe sounds like it could work well see the blog: She Simmers. I will be trying this out soon, prob a sweet version. :)

Steamed Buns

Saw this nice recipe on this site for these Asian Steamed Bun Dough that I am totally obsesed with making and perfecting.

Baking when I have nothing else to do ....

Well since being at home and having nothing to do other than clean, exercise, watch tv, tend my little garden on the balcony, surf web, and go into town for window shopping, as we have to save money, recently got into Baking, made Banana Bread which turned out great, made some steamed beef buns, its asian, did not turn out good, made some hot cross buns turned into more of a hot cross bread lol, and recently choc chip mini muffins which we are snacking on now mmm turned out great. Will be making the Banana Bread again was delish! And the fiance loved it, was gone in about a day and a half.

Got it from this site: http://www.thehealthybaker.com.au/recipe/ if anyone was interested.
I will be attempting the Asian steamed buns but will get a mate of mine to go through it with me as he makes them all the time. Phew..

Grecian Gowns

Its been a while but I think I have decided on a wedding dress, the Grecian Gown style looks great, and as im curvy I think it would suit me, and some of the gown I have seen on this website are so amazing! http://www.aisledash.com/gallery/grecian-goddess-wedding-gowns/599119/

And some of these Vera Wang ones are amazing too. Like us mortals could afford them... but they could be copied by a talented dressmaker..

Now these are great, give good ideas... good site too.

What was on TV

Just saw something on A Current Affair tonight, was about that church who was actually a cult, and that say woman are worthless, and kids marry each other. How sick can people be and gulable??? this is why I dont join church groups. And they ask for 10% of all their earnings. How can they get away with it.........

A bad March

Well its been a while since I have been here, a lot has happened, I was made redundant, in not a nice way by my company, well I was not happy there anyway, but the way they did it was so back handed and a stab in the back. But I am happy not to work for them anymore, its one of those that you get depressed every morning and dont want to go in, kinda thing.

Well all has ironed out now, visa is sorted and applying for PR now with my fiance, thanks poppie!. It is still boring to be at home doing nothing, but the angry state and sad state of mind set has passed and while I am waiting for things to be accepted before I apply for jobs again, may aswell try and get fitter and loose some weight. There really are no jobs at mo, but I have to wait till I can send out a wave of resumes again. I really feel for those out there who were made redundant and are not on PmRand have to leave. I was so upset and disheartened that I could leave the heaven that is oz. I really do love this country.

Well hope I can add more to my blog now and etc. to all this blog stuff. xoxo

Wedding Dresses

This is definatly for those slim girls.

A really nice one fit for a true princess.

Definatly a quirky one, I love this one!

This one is pretty, and also very princess like.

This is gorgous, not into the colour though, definatly an attention grabber.

This is cute too, traditional.
